Help us celebrate our milestone 130th birthday by choosing a charity to support with the proceeds from our Birthday Bash this May! Along with our friends at The Cupcake Bar and Uptown Valet & Transportation, who both turn 5 this year, we are asking YOU to vote for your favorite charity.
TODAY through April 8th, fans can vote in an online poll to decide which local Austin charity the Birthday Bash will benefit. There are so many great charities in Austin, we couldn’t pick just one! We need YOUR help to make our final decision!
The four charities that are involved in the running are Austin Pets Alive!, Dell Children’s Circle of Friends, SafePlace and Texas Advocacy Project.
Austin Pets Alive! is a nonprofit dedicated saving the lives of companion animals by rescuing dogs and cats at risk of euthanasia at other area shelters. APA! has saved over 19,000 from euthanasia since 2008 through programs like a parvo puppy ward, bottle baby kitten nursery, dog behavior program, medical clinic, and more.
Dell Children’s Circle of Friends is a network of volunteer-led, support groups in Central Texas that raise awareness and funds for Children’s Medical Center Foundation of Central Texas to benefit Dell Children’s Hospital.
For nearly 40 years, SafePlace has provided a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, and counseling services to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. SafePlace is committed to ending sexual and domestic abuse, and offers community education, training, and advocacy programs to achieve that goal.
Texas Advocacy Project works directly with victims, shelters, law enforcement agencies and courts across Texas to deliver free legal services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.
The winning charity will receive all funds raised at the Birthday Bash, hosted in May by The Cupcake Bar, Uptown Valet and The Allan House. The goal of the Birthday Bash is to raise $5,000 to benefit the selected charity.
