Finding other ways to include kids in your wedding can be difficult as not everyone has kids of the appropriate age for a flower girl or ring bearer so we came up with some ideas for you.
Include them in the Planning Process
If you have kids of your own, the wedding process can be confusing for them. By including them in the process from day one they will feel proud for helping. This can be as simple as helping you put invitations in envelopes or letting them make small decisions with you.
Ask them to Lead the Procession
If the child is to old to be a flower girl or ring bearer consider letting them lead the procession with a fun sign that says things like, “Here she comes” or “Too late to get cold feet now”. Another option is to make them a junior bridesmaid or groomsman.
Plan Special Pictures
Make sure to add a special photo session with the kids to your photographer’s list of must-have shots. Not only will the kids feel important but it will be something for all of you to look back on when they’re older. Just remember to keep it short!
Create a Dance Together
Just like the importance of a first dance or father-daughter dance, it’s important to have a special dance that involves the kids. Not only is it a fun experience for them to be front and center it’s a memory that will last a life time.
