Historic Austin Venue
Our historic Austin venue in downtown is quite popular on the weekends which means we are often booked up to a year or more in advance during peak season. However, there’s a new trend in the industry in which couples are booking for an off-day. Ask yourself these questions to see if you would benefit from a weekday wedding.
Looking to save so you can have your dream wedding?
Many couples choose a weekday wedding so they can spend more on what’s most important to bringing their vision to life. Whether that’s being able to afford your dream venue or more florals. Pro tip: vendors and hotels often offer discounts for weekday service as they are not as busy.
Need more availability during peak season?
A weekday not only saves you money but still allows you to book your venue during peak season when temperatures and weather are milder. Vendors are also less busy on weekdays so you will have more selection and flexibility.
What does your guest list look like?
Is your list small – say under 50 people – or are you wanting to invite a large group? Weekday weddings will affect headcount. Your “Can not attend” RSVPs will increase more than that of the average weekend wedding simply because not everyone can take a day off work – more if they are out-of-town guests.
What kind of party atmosphere do you want?
If you’re looking for a very subdued celebration, a weekday wedding will probably work great for you. However, if you want a wedding that’s exciting, fun, and has a party like atmosphere, a weekday wedding can dampen that for sure. If you’re wedding is in the middle of the work week guests will likely need to leave earlier to get home for work the next day.
